hi usmleasr. i think CS exam is given all throughout the year in all centers. i just don't know how u can apply now on the ECFMG website for CS in jan 2005. maybe u can try through phone. however, since the earliest available now in chicago is November 9, it won't be long when jan 2005 opens up. what u can do is check the calendar regularly.

if u're going for the 2005 match, i suggest you choose another test center with an earlier available date such as LA and Houston.

good luck to us all!

Hi BC! I saw your advice that someone who wants to go for the 2005 match has to take step 2 cs as soon as possible and I agree, but do you suggest that november is too late? Why? My understanding was that if you want to appply for 2005 match you must take the step 2 CS before december 31. ( I plan to take my exam on november 21. Do you think it is too late?)
Thanks, Mihaela

hi xmihaela. i don't have any idea as to what date is considered late. all i know is that ECFMG advises everyone to take the CS exam as early as possible and that they can't guarantee as to when they'll release the results. so even if u take it a month before the deadline, u may still not get the result in time for the 2005 match. sounds crazy huh? :?

if i were you, i'll pick an earlier date. there are centers with open slots in october.

good luck! :o

Thank you BC. I think you are right. I thought you knew why they advice this. I will think at your suggestion. Right now I don't know what is the best way to prepare for this step and I am affraid to schedule my exam earlier. So... it is difficult. :?

Thanks anyway and GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

Mihaela
