Hi everybody.....I have exactly 4 months to study for my step 2....Is that enough?.......I spent about six months studying for step one...
Also.....what books do ppl use for step 2?....Im planning to use Kaplan +First aid........But ive heard blueprints is also a good series??? :? ...and wat exactly is crush the boards?...is it like first aid?.....thanks

i too am using kaplan, it's quite good. I don't know about blueprints but i've that for gynae its very good.
what is your study schedule if u are going to take the exam in 4 mo.

i 've not decided on a date yet as i've heard that step 2 is tougher than step1. so i'mkinda scared.
are u thru with step 1.
maybe we could compare notes on step 2.

hi,
i am studying too for step 2 starting on the 18
i have kaplan highlight lectures¬es
planning to start with seeing the video highlights
kaplan&first aid too
blue print are good enough for ob/gy mainly thats what all my friends who have taken the step tell me
crush the boards is a book for rapid review in the last week its an excellent book &a must do but the book is not in stock right now
but guess you can check on amazon
i too have heard that step 2 is more difficult
but guess hard work&prayers will get us through
where are you guys situated?

hey liby..lucky....Im starting today...with the subject i find the most difficult...obs/gyne..
anyways..im just planning to use kaplan lecture notes...with high yield psych......and crush the boards step 2.....and CDMT for reference.....
I got first aid too..but im not planning to use it..its 500 pages lonG!.....and we dont get the kaplan videos here...
and im running out of time..have to give the exam by 20th oct...
what do u ppl think abt the books?...should I add some more in?

i have taken another book called harrisons im self assesment&board review cause i have heard that the max questions are on im
guess its lil tough but will try do as much as possible

hi,
the kaplan highlight videos are quiet good
but not like the real thing
they i guess a set of 64 videos highlights each about 30 mins in length
they cover topics like the step 1 webprep
guess look for usmle stuff
then look for step 2
some packages have it with the step 2notes

i have the same books as u people but am using only kaplan notes, don;t have access to the videos though.
i am doing obs gynae now from kaplan highlights.
plan to finish it this week.
i'm not putting in a lot of time , only 4 to 5 hrs. average.
do keep in touch and keep me posted of your study plans.

hello friends...i m in the same boat as u guys.Can anyone of u pls.suggest me too which way sould i start.I am starting my studies from today....went to library for few hours and ran back in just 2 hrs and read 10 pages of surgery.that's it for today.I am also planning to give step-2 in october month.I want to do Q from day 1 ....could u pls.suggest which Q-source should i start with?

i am going soo slow
far behind my schedule
guess its starting up trouble
but now i guess i better gain momentum
or will be too late for the exam
guess next post onwards i will post the number of hours i studied &how many days of the week&what topic i covered,
that way i guess i will study definately

hey liby....same here...cant seem to build up the momentum...started gyne abt 2 days back from kap lec notes...ive only done like 40 pages!
Well...I plan to study atleast 7 to 8 hours per day..thats the plan anyways hehe...

even i didn't develop the same momentum or speed as i was doing for step 1 :roll: ,but iam enjyoing reading clinical's ....doing with kaplan notes only ,started in first week June.
:roll: I hope we will catch the same speed again ,InshAllah
:idea: Planned a routine to cover imp stuff ,lets see.for a week , I have divided time for Q bank ,kaplan notes ( 2 subjects per day),Video lectures. I alternate these 3 things daily .That way we can keep ourselves fresh .

i'm haing the same problem exactly. studied only for 3 hours yesterday. today studied about 5 pages and then gave up.
i'm doing obs gyne. hope to finish it by monday inshallah.
i don't have the same stamina as for step1.
how r u people doing the q's. i'm not doing any .

Yes video lectures are very useful indeed ,because it will make you cover topic easily and can be a sort of highlights on imp topics.
Once u listen lecture cover the same topic later from kaplan .

i havn't started doing any q's yet. i plan to give a quick reading once and then do the q's after the second reading. i have the same books. plus A&L for obs gynae. i havn't done it yet but plan to do some q's after i finish. i'm really tired of studying obs gynae.
what is your schedule ?
tell me do u have the kaplan videos? are they any good?

Hey,
Would like to join your gang. Am in Pakistan, took Step 1 on 27th may, result was announced on 30th June...applied for CS.....
In the meanwhile started medicine, cant build the momentum, havent done a single subject....doing mostly the same books as you are....Will keep in touch....
