4. psychodynamic psychotherapy is the answer. psychodynamic psychotherapy is most useful for personality disorders and adjustment disorder by providing insight into the causes of these disorders. Cognitive therapy is useful where the psychopathology is a result of 'wrong preception of environment' for example specific phobias. The goal is to change the perception of the objects by giving the patient an exposure to these objects (desensitization) Behavioral psychotherapy is used where the psychopathology results as a direct response to environment and NOT as a perception defect. In these disorders the problematic behavior is well-defined and hence these disorders repond well to changes in behavior (beh. therapy). Examples include social phobia, drug abuse or in childhood pychiatric disorders.
