What difference does this marriage makes ?I am an Asian IMG . I’m planning to take USMLE soon . Please reply in detail and be realistic . Thank you all and wish you the best. ssurg

Your green card holder spouse should still apply for US citizenship, then process your papers for adjustment of status to permanent residency if you want to obtain a green card or permanent residency status. I don't think you can obtain a green card or permanent residency status if your spouse is just a green card holder. But still, it's possible for you to obtain a residency or practice in US via J1 visa.

you should consult an immigration attorney. but from my understanding, marrying a green card holder is not the same as marrying a US citizen. your wait time is a LOT longer and if you are out of the US, you cannot easily adjust your status.
