about obesity there are many hypotheses one of them is that obese women need larger doses of Folate acid to be effective.

can anyone pl explain why not C??

  #9

Well, the answer is C. Good ole Dr Goljan says that Phenytoin = ANTISEIZURE medication inhibits intestinal conjugase. Thats the enzyme that converts the poluglutamate form of folate ingested in the diet to the monoglutamate form that ur gut can absorb.

And if u want a freebie - the absorption of the monoglutamate form of folate can be decreased by alcohol and BCPs.

What no Goljan fans around here?????
