cause of glossitis and gastritis in B12 deficiency anemia??

The gastritis accompanies B12 deficiency anemia since there is an auto-immune response against the gastric mucosa (proton pump and pepsinogen). Usually, the acid secretion is lost first, and then pepsinogen, and finally intrinsic factor. Obviously, the loss of intrinsic factor causes B12 deficiency, whereas acid secretion loss (achlorhydria) and pepsinogen loss also contribute by decreasing the ability to free cobalamin from its protein-bound form in food.

well, 2 points:
1. autoimmune gastritis is a cause of B12 deficiency not its consequesnce.
2. if the cause of B12 def is something other than pernicious anemia like dietry deficiency or ileal disease etc, the what will be the cause?

well it seems people are not interestied in replying. here is teh answer:
B12 is needed for dna. so it is required by all rapidly growing cells including cells of GI mucosa besides hemotopoitic tissue. i hope this explains.
