27yo M w/ solitary nodule found on routine exam. scintiscan shows uptake of radioactive I. dx?

Hashimoto's
follicular adenoma
granulomatous
medullary carcinoma
papillary carcinoma.

answer shows follicular adenoma, but i thought most of them were cold? then again, this is a routine exam, so probably not granulomatous (painful) and Hashimoto's (hypothyroid). and carcinomas are DEFINITELY cold, right? but Goljian path says follicular adenomas are 'mostly' cold. so this is like the 1% of the time it's not? am i missing something here?

I thought same that follicular adenomas are cold, and also cancers too.

None of the options are giving me sense, so don't really know.
