methyl paraben is a preservative in various cosmetics(under arm deperspirants etc) and foods and beverages
it can cause contact dermatitis(itching, rash,swelling, redness)
recently parabens have been shown to ve potential fr breast cancer due to their estrogen like effects..
absorbed thru skin, converted into para hydroxy benzoic acid and excreted in urine
