Hi all test takers, Greetings . Is it possible to score in the 90's on steps 1 and 2 only by studying on one's own - no coaching , no course ? If yes what time table , what scedule and what books to follow ? Please give details. I am an Asian IMG living in Asia. Please be realistic to answer . I would appreciate an early reply . Wish you all the best. ssurg.

Hi ssurg: I think that you can do it. It is hard and need commiment. I can only talk about step 2 because I did step it last year (I am old IMG). How many time that you need to be prepared? It depends on many factors. If you read some of the posts, you can imagine it. It took me 1year but I really studied hard the last 3 months. But I know others that it only took them some less than 6 months. Good luck

I forgot to tell you that I am also studying by myself for step 1 now. I am studying from all the recommended books that have been recommended. I hope that I would pass. Ceci

of course you can!!! My close friend studied by him self, no course and he wasnt even in the us and scored a 99. According to him you just need to know the good book, which you can see in the exam experiences people post here. Good luck!!!
