Hi Sk, Congratulations for having put Step 1 behind you and the best of luck! Could you please tell me what did you mean when you said you felt like having wasted the last 6 months? What do you think you shoud have done differently, or what do yo think you shouldn't have done? Thanks and again the best of luck! A.

Hi everybody....thanks for the messages Friscan....What i meant to say was that in retrospect atleast...if I had given the exam a few months earlier I would have probably done the same... One thing I would have done differently was not to worry so much abt my kaplan qbank/qbook score...hehe...because I was getting abt 75 to 85 % correct in them...but to be quite honest...the questions on the exam were either a lot simpler or a lot harder than the kaplan ones.....BUt doing all those questions helped me a lot in the sense that doing 50 questions in 60 min was MashAllah not a problem for me... In fact in almost every block I had abt 10 to 15 min left over and that way I went back to the difficult questions and worked them out....so time was not a problem for me... So my advice would be to practice as many questions as u can with a time limit... Anat: The questions were straightforward...nothing complicated...I had about 2 histo slides....2-3 MRIs..and all of them were very simple and clear...For anat Id recommend the High Yield series.....I think I got about 10-15 questions total on anat in the exam Phy:Lots of pHysio ....BRS OR Kaplan r more then enough for this.....mostly endo..some renal..some respo....no GI or cardio... Lots of patho and pharma.......not very difficult....again kaplan was good enough...for pharma even first aid is enough..... micro was pretty low yield.....I think I got max 15 questions....a LOT of immunology..abt 30 Qs total...I had done kaplan and jawtez immunology and FA.....I think all of them r necessary and if u havent done them...do them noW!...Maybe usmle has realized that micro is too simple and thats why theyve shifted to more of immunology...hmmm Biochem/genetics/Mol biology......The biochem questions were easy....really straightfoward....genetics was time consuming...i had atleast 3 complicated questions....and it took me a while to solve them..... Biostats/epi......I had abt 15 questions total and all of them were pretty easy...really basic...high yield biostats. or the biostats/epi in kaplan lecture notes is enough for this.... The real problem was BEH science....these were very vague..doctor patient interactions..mostly......about 30 Qs.......I read high yield b.s and kaplan..... So in the end...Just dont PANIC!....get a good nights sleep before the exam...stay calm during the exam.....good luck everybody!
