Male who has been complaining of some bone pain & fatigue for the past 4mths presents to A&E now with hypotension & shock. He has a very abnormal blood profile with high PTs & APTTs admist others. A provisional diagnosis was made & he was accordingly treated with plasma & FFP infusions. What is the most likely cause for his current presentation?

a.acute myeloblastic leukaemia
b.acute promyelocytic leukaemia
c.gram negative sepsis
d.adrenal insufficincy i.e. Addisonian crisis

whoops should be platelet & ffp infusions not plasma & ffp infusions

APL (or M3) is known for causing DIC-like symptoms. I go with (B)
