45 yo female comes to you b/c of problems with her vision. You discover she has detachment of retina only in the right eye. What response would u see in both eyes upon performing the light pupillary reflex on the affected eye?

Why? I couldnt work it out, because I have similar q which says lesion to fovea doesnt affect pupillary reflex, what is the difference?

If you have detachment of retina, that means that you can't absorb light very well. So, when you shine light into the eye, you got a problem. Therefore the eyes paradoxically dialate to absorb as much light as possible. I think the sympathetic system is involved in this.
