these r 4 questions dat u can ask to know the the effect of alcohol use on the pt and his family/frnds
1 hv u ever thought to Cut down on ur alcohol intake?
2 hv u ever been Annoyed by criticism by ur frnds or family (on ur alcohol use)?
3 hv u ever felt Guilty abt wat u r doing to ur family?
4 hv u ever felt a need to take alcohol as an Eyeopener?

but the q is asking abt introduction and intro shud be open so, i thought it wud be D

and the answer to CAGE can decide if the patient is dependent on alcohol or what? I agree with the selection of D to the posted question, too.

criteria fr abuse is --1) rec use leading to failure to fulfill obligations
2) rec involvement in hazardous situations(accidents etc) while under the influence
3) rec legal problems(DUIs)
4) continued use despite -ve consequences

criteria fr dependance---1)tolerance
2)suicidal ideation
3)seizures (on withdrawl)
4)persistent desire/unsuccessful efforts to Cut down
