-SCL-90/SCL90A inventory
-Halstead Reitan Battery (test or???)
-Internal/external cue recognization for behav change
-etc., etc., etc....

What the heck are these  and do I need to study all these.........where can I get all these.....anyone, experienced plsssssss help!!!. do we need to know all these...if not why is usmle easy making it so tough (paradox)???

The thematic apperception test (TAT) is a projective personality test. The TAT consists of 31 pictures that depict a variety of social and interpersonal situations. The subject is asked to tell a story about each picture to the examiner. Of the 31 pictures, 10 are gender-specific while 21 others can be used with adults of either sex and with children.
The Symptom Checklist-90-R (SCL-90-R) instrument, an assessment from Pearson Assessments, is a brief, multidimensional self-report inventory designed to screen for a broad range of psychological problems and symptoms of psychopathology. The SCL-90-R instrument is also useful as a progress or outcomes measurement instrument.
The Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Test Battery (HRNB) was developed to predict the presence of brain damage while offering a comprehensive view of a patient’s individual functions. The purpose of this battery is to provide the clinician with a database for inferring the nature, location, and extent of the structural changes in the brain that may underlie and explain the pattern of intact and impaired functions derived from the measures and qualitative information yielded by the battery. The present battery consists of 10 tests which have been shown empirically to best discriminate between normals and patients with documented cortical damage.

Thanks a lot, dxtx; does that mean we need to know all these ??? There were a host of other tests that I have never heard of! I'm terrified!! <:big_eeys:>

i dont know if we need to know these or not. I did them for step2 ck psychiatry. Seems to me CK psychiatry and Step1 Beh Science are interchangable and can appear on either exams. anyways maybe someone who has taken the exam can answer if these psych tests questions are relevant for step1 :|

Suvi,
Its too much of info given in usmleeasy.com for beahvioural sciences .
Try to learn new concepts ,if you have time for exam...otherwise not(real exam would test only basic concepts)
Kaplan notes and BRS will serve the purpose.

Thank you very much, asmi; that was very helpful (as u always are grin )

moni i think asmi can give better advice as she took step1, so i guess kaplan and brs is the way to go. i personally havent studied beh science yet, i am takin it lightly so far as i studied psych for step2 but i am not sure if i remember much so maybe i will do kaplan or FA and high yield beh science. and the info i posted above was from bunch of different sites from the internet.

I have started studying BS, and that was a long time ago. I used the BRS book, and I looked over the Kaplan notes a little. Let me tell you something, that BRS bok is really, really good.
Good luck,
A.
