dissecting ascending-AA is ALWAYS associated with either essential HTN or Marfans. AAA (abdominal) always asociated with atherosclerosis.

Idiopathic I appreciate that info. You must admitted that for some under exam circumstances this is not a give away question since the q only used the terms "dissecting aortic anuersym" It did not distinguish ascending from abdominal. Thx. :icon_study: grin

dissection almost always starts in thoracic aorta, either type I, II or III .
