How are the LVEDP in each of them? How about EF? Thanks.

Systolic CHF LVEDV is increased and ejection fraction is decreased.
Diastolic CHF LVEDV is decreased and ejection fraction is normal or supranormal.

doc4minda, in FA, it says both of them have inc LVEDV, what do you think? thanks!

Systolic dysfunction is the inability to contract so the ejection fraction has to be reduced and therefore more bloood remains.... and that bulids up and causes increased both LVEDV and LVEDP

Diastolic dysfunction is the inability to relax and therefore it can't accomodate good enough amount of blood during diastole so LVEDV is reduced but the LVEDP should be normal to high becasue a non-compliant ventricle... allows more pressure to build up with less volume and becasue it pumps normally... the ejection fraction is normal but the storke volume may be low depending on the amount of blood that was there in the filling phase...

Hope that made sense

Your understanding on it is very helpful and I think you are right! GL! smiling face
