I hope you can give me some advise on this. I am thinking of taking the exam by the end of July. So there is about 2 months of time for me left. Now I can make 40~50% of all questions right when I do a block of 50 questions. I am a graduate student now and doing thesis work during day time. I do exam preparations at night and weekends. But I plan to take a month off (july) to focus on my study. My goal is to reach at least 80%. Do you think I can make it? Any advise or suggestion is welcome! I need to make this decision soon. Thanks!

xkl, I'm in the same situation as you are, so the only time I get is around 1-2 hrs at night and the weekends; I think you can do it as long as you are determined. "Will" is the first thing you need, and then make out an economical time plan that works best for you. If you are allowed to take a month leave for studies, that's great, coz it will give you some speed. As for myself, I can take max 10 days leave at a time, so I'll keep it for the week before the exam. During work hours, if I get a chance I review flash cards and spend time in this forum, and I think it helps a lot.

i just took the usmleeasy first 20 questions and i got 45% of them correct. terrible, huh? i already read physio and anatomy kaplan, and i'm still getting 55-58% in the kaplan q book to top it all, i'm not even working, so i have all the study time to myself. but i'm a slow reader. during my peak times i can read five chapters straight. during my slow hours i read a chapter for five hours! i'm getting frustrated and i plan to take the boards in august. hope someone out here in this forum would be able to help us with this dilemma may
