both amaurosis fugax and retinal detachment produce a sensation of a curtain passing across the visual, how do you differentiate them? also How would differentiate retinal artery occlusion versus retinal vein occlusion?

it is caused by retinal emboli from ipsilateral carotid disease. it is described as a curtain passing vertically across the visual field with complete mono ocular visiual loss lasting a few minutes and a similar curtain effect as the episode passes.
