One week ago I went to prometric in San Antonio, to verify that my appointment was ready, I show to the guy there my paperwork that I should need for the day of my exam, he told me that everything was fine, so I realize that it was true: today the day of my exam,I went to the center, I was register, but what a sorprice I have my drivers lic with my father last name only but not my mothers last name, as we use in Mexico, I show to them my Permanent Residency Card with picture with my complet name as in orange permit but, (what a sorprice) no signature. driver Lic.with signature, incomplet name , A Permanent residency card with the correct name but they do not use a signature.Really I feel disappointed why I have to pay for my Permanent Residency Card if they do not accept, This is the first time that they do not accept my Permanent Residency Card as a legal document, and also I went to the Police Department to change my name but they said it can not be because they use only 3 words on the driver lic.
An other big sorprice was when I ask the lady in the center to give me a paper where it prove that I was there, she give it to me, but in very rude manner like she does not wanted.I when to San antonio driving for almost 5 hours to heard this??????????
I am scare of the test, now I am also scare if I will take my test ir not.
Any suggestions, I really need assistance with this mess that I did my self.

I quoted some info from usmle.org official site and it looks like you have to supplement the valid photo-bearing id with a valid signature-bearing id. Read & print the official info anf take it with you.

Hi Rubenssss,
Felt bad after reading ur experience before exam.
Can you change ur center ?
Try to go before ur scheduled exam timing and also make sure you carry ID ( passport /DL)

I already read that post,
This mean that I can reschedule my test just paying a fee instead of $675.00 ?
and it said that the reschedule has to be in the period that I am enrolled, which will ended the last day of this month.well the answer is;;;;;;;;;;;;;
I have to wait to speak with ecfmg org. yesterday I talked to them and they will let me to do an extension, which I have not programered yet because the password that they give me is not working yet, I will wait untill this afternoon and see what they say.
Asmi I went the week before the exam and I show to them my papers and he said that everything was fine, I only have DL and my Permanent Residency, and others documents from Mexico, but they were unaccetables.

rubensss i'm so sorry about ur experience.i feel very angry with the people at ur centre ibelieve u met nasty people there,either that or they are quite ignorant.i see no reason why they didn t allow u take ur test.why do they need to see ur mom's name on ur dl if ur own first and last name matches what is on ur permit in both ur ids?u could even have used a credit card or an employee id card, anything else that had ur signature with or without picture to supplement ur residency card.all this info is on both ur scheduling permit and ur exam checklist(the blue paper u were sent when ur application was accepted).but i guess its too late to change what has happened.
wish u all the best but please change ur exam center for the next time.and dont give up.everything will still turn out right the end of the day.

i have the same problem in my driver's license:there should have been four words (two first names, one middle, one last), but instead, they put only three. so i searched the ecfmg site about acceptable ids. i found out that they also offer an ecfmg id which you can present to the test center site instead of the usual dl. maybe you can try applying for the ecfmg id instead.

Get your Mexican passport. you will get a valid ID. an ID that is valid world wide and also here in the US it will have the last names you need plus a signature. In Monterrey you should be able to get it in one day. Hope this helps and that you get this in time.

it happened to me too
that I was treated like a criminal
and they always need an extra proof from a foreighner
its really sad i am sorry
but remember that not all the people are like that
just CHange your center
and make sure your name MATCH exactly
my aplication was rejected 2 times bcz of a DASH bet my family name which was not present on diploma
I was so pissed off
I hate this
I can understand you very well
not only we have to study for this difficult exam
but also loose so much ENERGY and EmOTIONS on stuff like that
and theres no understanding from some people
its sad but true.

You know what I really was feeling pretty bad,because you feel impotency, I couldn't do anything to fix the problem at that moment,and even worse,because I was taking my time to go with one week before to verify that my papers and appointment were ready, at that moment I was feeling confident because they said that everything was fine, but well;;;;;;;;;;;;;
