stage 0---lymphocytosis only
stage I---lymphocytosis + lymphadenopathy
stage II ---organomegaly
stage III---anemia
stage IV---thrombocytopenia
symptomatic stage II or stage III/IV require treatment.
Fludarabine is used as front line therapy.
Combination therapy with Fludarabine + either rituximab/cyclophosphamide has better response.
Associated autoimmune hemolytic anemia or immune thrombocytopenia require treatment with prednisone or splenectomy.
