These tumours may grow anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract (and in the lungs) with approximately 90% in the appendix. The remainder occur in the ileum, stomach, colon or rectum. so mash may be u right but what about lung.

OK..ppl......dont get confused.... Carcinoid tumor MC location is appendix as we all know that, but remember that tumor at this location rarely metastasize to somewhere else. On the other hand Carcinoid syndrome is when a carcinoid tumor metastasize to the LIVER coming MC location = >terminal ileum Hope this help, and not make more confusing. BTW...morning mash....you are hardcore on here....

Absolutely right...remember, most carcinoid tumors (located in the appendix) are incidental findings at autopsy. The syndrome only occurs when there is liver involvement.

ok, so if appendix didn't mentioned, for most common location we will choose ileum right?
