patients suspect nephrolithiasis. Next is CT or IVP?

Usually we should go for cheaper investigation, so x-ray first, plus 85% of stones are radiopaque.

Ultrasound has higher sensivity then x-ray because it also can detect radiolucent stones.

CT is cost-effective method but i don't think it should be used first although it has become first-line tool in evaluating flank pain.

IVP is the last choice for those uncertain cases after the tries of the above.

What do you think? Thanks.

yes even I think we should go for intravenous urography when the diagnosis remains uncertain.
