I would go with 1 , if there is no other option says ,tell the wife that she better discuss this issue with her husband .otherwise you do not disclose patient privacy unless for the 4 exceptions which is not the case here . NNL : I understand your point ,but that should be told by her to her husband not the doctor tho unless you see a serious harm ,but still they didn't talk about husband condtion either psychologically or emotionally . *Cal , good questions! keep up .

1.Respect her privacy and keep silence. This is the ans, u have no right what so ever to discuss pts issues with anyone, Especially that she asked for confidentiality, if the ans encourage her to discuss it with her husband was there, i would have chose it..

It's choice 1, from the given choices. However, if we want to assume other options then we can come up with better and more suitable answer for this situation where you encourage the wife to tell the husband ... I think.
