On the 3rd day after an event of intracerebral infact, a pt died of coma. An autosy confirms a large infarct in the territory of MCA, associatd with massive swelling of the left hemisphere, transtentorial hernition, and pontine Duret hemorrhages. Which of hte following treatments might hve prevented such an outcome? a. anticolagulants b. barbiturates c. calcium channel blockers d. corticosteroids e. NMDA receptor antagonists Explain please. Thanks.

i think should be cortico steroids.... in a case of cerebral infarct(esp that of embolism)..always have lot of reactive edema...which can be dangerous... we generally use both 20% mannitol and dexamethasone in stroke patients(unless a contraindication is there)..
