To those who have already given the exam....I wanted to know if we must know each and every word in the recommended books/notes???Its so much....and even when I went through 1 reading through all the subjects I feel there is tooooooooooooooooo much of facts to remember(I'm not sure how everything is going to fit into my head????)and when I attempt the questions given after each chapter in Kaplan....i find them very tricky and the questions are so twisted and non-direct.....are the exams like those questions??Also how does one review in such short time because my reviewing can take upto a month or 2! Can anyone tell me which are the question sources I should not even touch and are bad for me??

hi , it is not possible to anyone to know all the facts...questions behind the chapters in kaplan are very tricky..but go thro them once...exam qs will not be this tough..in exam u will have various type of qs..few very easy..few very tough..few u can ans with one sec thinking...in review..don't worry.... do as much as possible...but try to review all subjects...say u can put 2 days for one subject...whatever u did that two days is sufficient..go to next subject...otherwise we will end up revising only few subjects...review is only flipping thro pages..see diagrams...and charts..it will help a lot..if u r comfortable, keep working few MCQS a day say 25-50 qs..which will help u to keep in touch with exam pattern. u can do well...say it to urself and believe in urself..all the best

Memorize everything word-by-word...not a bad idea  But, even then u will find qs tricky. Step 1 is not a memory-based exam as I experienced. Ppl like you can do great who grasp the concept though cant memorize everything. Your benefits: 1. your logic must be good and memorizing will create a lot of panic...you won't panic much. 2. You will review more if you dont stress on memorizing every fact. 3. And, dont worry...you have some kinda memory which will flash as u see the questions. Your hurdles: 1. Biochem puzzles will really be hard....logic doesnt work much 2. Adverse effects of drug like diadenosine (any place for logic  ) 3. Choose positive sense single stranded RNA virus (ofcourse clinical set-up but no logic when u see choices like that) How abt balancing memory for these topics(make mnemonics) and logic in Physio and Patho?
