Yes according to the official booklet the % to pass is around 60 to 70% but I think th Kaplan simulated is a little bit more tough.

That may be true...but, I do not know for sure Toroloco. Some people who took it last year....us med students....told me that if you get about 65-70% on qbank then you will definately pass the step 1. I can not attest to this as fact.....just passing allow what I was told. Hope this helps. 8)

usually 70% in kaplan Qbank u might get arround 90 on two digit score, but there is no comparisone as the better u do the more difficult q u get( the system is set up like that). in the actual exam if you get 179/350 means 51% you pass and the people who get above 250/350 means 72% their score is 99 on two digit score

Hiwa, Wher did you get that information? The only thing I know for sure is that you need between 60 and 70% of correct questions to pass the exam and that information is on USMLE official booklet and on line. I don't think that 51% of right questions could be enough to pass the test. In fact what you need is 182 in the 3 digits score. 182 represents 65% of 280 ( the maximum score you can get). The 2 digits score I guess is a percentile but as a matter of fact I couldn't understand yet how do they calculate it as long as there is a point of coincidence 182 or 75 to pass and for a percentile that doesn't make any sense. and where did you get that information about the setting of the test. I know that there is some test with that system but I thought was not the case of USMLE exam.

It is not set up to get more difficult as you go. They are planning on it...but not as yet. I dont know what you should score in simmulated test. I got 75% on simmulated, and got 220 on the exam 5 weeks ago. Looked as if simmulated was easier than actual test. Possibly coz Kaplan teaches you what they ask on the exam...not what actually is on USMLE. Anyway..you have my numbers...make conclusions from that.
