How many liters of isotonic saline do you infuse into a pt in order to give him 1 liter of plasma?

Mash, you have the intrinsicness of Galileo/ for the others:

ECF is 1/3 plasma +RBC's
ECF is 2/3 interstitial fluid
*to get into that vascular compartment you must give 3 liters isotonic
saline.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------
extra*** -ECF is 1/3 of TBW
ICF is 2/3 of TBW
normal vascular fluid is about 5liters

for those who might not understand what mjl said, when u give isotonic saline, 2/3 of it will go to ISF and 1/3 will stay in vessels. so to replace 1L plasma u need to give 3 L saline
