I am wondering if anyone in this forum or anyone you know has done radiology as a second residency after finishing another residency like IM in the USA. Does it make it easier to get into Rads after doing another residency??
Yes i do, a bloke from my med school did that but he was well sharp, and probably well connected.
A guy I met - USMG - did rads after doing FM. 10 years after finishing FM, he tried to get into rads. No luck the first two times he applied. Then the third year, he got in. He made a lot of connections before applying the 3rd time. Went to rads conferences, met pds, worked with several. Was not easy for him.
I know a guy who did IM, then ID fellowship then he got into derm!
So, the roads are different. It depends what you think is worth doing for you!
