Can anyone name some tests that would show the patency (%occlusion) in the Left anterior descending artery??

well... trans femoral angiogram will do that, trans subclavian as well. Thalium Stress Test will show, ECG indirectly will show. But the best is Angiogram, I think.

mdwannbe you are acknowledged but no way in heaven an ECG will show % patency of LAD!(but it would show electricle activity in the realm of an Einthoven Triangle)[rate, rhythm, deviation, PVC, Blocks(which we should know) intervals, st segment elavation etc.

oh no...only indirectly...by inferring the amount of diviation and ST depression, that will occur during stress test... but absolutely net the exact % occlusion. ECG does not correspond to anything but the electrical activiy of the heart.

Cardiac angiogram indications
if there is possitive stress ECG or thallium scan and also has thereputic role to perform angioplasty or stenting or streptokinase infusion.
It should not be performed if you not contemplating theraputic action after the angiogram.

1) MRI
2) Radionuclide flow studies
3) Cardiac catherterization & angiography

Simple echo, TEEC, and Dopple-echo could not visual and estamate the patency of LAD.

Comments welcome.
