Does anyone know if the programs compensate for travel expenses, etc. when they call you in for residency interviews. I was under the impression that they don't. However, in the professional world, say if you are a PhD, employers customarily :idea: reimburse your travel expenses when they call you for interview. Or does it depend on a particular program??

Naturally, getting the foot in the door is the most important first step in the whole matching process, so everyone is trying to get called to as many interviews as possible. On the flipside, these expenses amount to a good lump of money, even if one goes to only few interviews :cry: . So, how is the financial side of this problem dealt with?

I have heard of a few programs that will pay for one night hotel stay. I have never heard of any program paying for your airfare, bus, train expenses.
