The main ones:

OA - PIP/DIP joint involvement, joint destruction seen radiographically, morning stiffness gone <1 hour after waking.

RA - MCP/PIP joint involvement, pannus formation, IgM anti-IgG antibodies in synovial fluid, morning stiffness that lasts >1 hour after waking, ulnar deviation, carpal tunnel syndrome.

There are, of course, many others...

Great!

Also, with RA there is systemic system not found with OA. Namely, fever, fatigue, percarditis, and pleuritis. Is OA symetrical like RA?

What type of collagen gets damaged in OA?

isnt cartilage type II? i think it is type II collagen...there can be bilateral findings with OA, but I dont think it is the rule, like it is with RA.

  #5

Cartilage {hydroxyproline is important stabilizer}
I-skin bone tendon cornea vessels

II-intervertebral disk,**Cartilage, vitreous body

II-fetal skin,vessels IV-basement membrane

With Rheumatoid think of it as being more symmetric
as Idiopathic says if its just one joint think more of Osteo
also with Osteo- bony sclerosis ,subchondral sclerosis, osteophytes

With Rheumatoid "Swan neck deformity"
