Young adult, athletic...sudden cardiac death... sounds like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The closest ans is outflow obstruction

Guys, just out of curiosity, do you still remember FLo Hyman, the great woman's volleyball player who led the US to a silver medal at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles?? She abruptly died of Marfan syndrome at the age of 32. I've always wondered how can a Marfan patient achieve so much in an intensive sport. How can someone with weakened elastic fibres of connective tissue and potential lens dislocation, cystic media dissection endure the daily training and the tension of competitions? I brought this up just as a reminder that Marfan syn can also be a cause of sudden death in young athelets even though I agree in the borad exam if you are given such a question of sudden death of athelet the answer would more likely to be "hypertrophic cardiomyopathy". :P
