hi ,am na img interested in applying for the residency match this year .
i was wondering which scores are considered high & could guarntee a residency & which are not .which scores are important ;is it step 1 or 2 ???

I think that even maximal score can't guarantee you residency , but it will make your chances much higer.
Both scores r important.

Yeah! that's right.I have hi scores 99/99 and a GC.Although i been called by some progs. I've also had my share of rejection letters.Its never only about your scores- visa/ experience/LOR's/ research /which program you are applying to and at what stage of the match are big criteria I guess.But again dont compromise for any reason, if you have an exam coming up-Shoot for the Stars!

Nothing - unfortunately, there is nothing that will guarantee a residency position sad

. We had candidates with scores in the high 90s that didn't get interviews sad

. We had candidates with permanent residency status that didn't get interviews :cry: .

It's the whole package that is important - and how you sell yourself.

It's a tough, tough job.
