If the pt and his family member declined the announcement of his disease, what the physician should do?

hi doc4m india,
i am not sure what exactly you wanted to ask. however, i presume that you wanted to ask , what, if patient were to deny permission to announce the diagnosis of his condition. well, some diseases are notifiable. they must be notified to the government, no matter what the patient wishes.the notifiable diseases include gonorrhoea, HIV,chlamydae chickenpox, measles, mumps, rubella etc.among many others. if the disease is not among the notifiable diseases, then , doctor does not need to announce to anybody at all.
if it is that, you are actually asking , what if,patient does not want to listen the diagnosis NOW, well, dont tell him for the MOMENT, but evantually YOU MUST INFORM HIM THE COMPLETE TRUTH. tell, if you know only the partial truth, stating that it is partial. but patient must be informed the complete truth about his diagnosis. what if , family members are requesting the doctor to not to tell the diagnosis to the patient, ask "why" but tell him the diagnosis anyway. the diagnosis should flow from the patient to his family members but not viceversa.
