How do you distinguish between the two if only information that your given is that patient shows increased levels of alpha fetal protein levels, as in what info would be given for these to help you distinguish? Alpha feto protein levels are decreased in what?

Actually alpha feto protein in increased in both spina bifida and anencephaly and your right about it being decreased in down syndrome. However, the distinguishing feature between spina bifida and anencephaly is that anencephaly will present with polyhydramnios, and spinda bifida will not.
