Robbins is a great book; I thoroughly enjoyed reading most of its chapters during my Pathology course. BUT, for USMLE prep I would suggest BRS path, or you could get a "baby" Robbins (great reference book, pocket edition.) Hope this helps. ardae

if you have some time, i would definitely recommend robbins review of pathology, which is a question book. it has excellent questions and excellent explanations. most of the questions don't simulate the real step 1 format; however, i think they helped me a great deal with identifying and clarifying important concepts. i also consulted the big mama robbins and baby robbins if i needed more explanation (and there are page correlations). BRS path is good for review and if you master that book you should be fine but the questions there are i thought rather weak. but that is just my opinion. good luck!

Hi Perses, Robbins is an awesome book, it is just that one would have to have plenty of time. But nevertheless, it's still great for reference, awesome path, pathophysiology, clinical information and so forth. And "baby" Robbins is just golden, too. That's my opinion at least, and whenever I feel like I need something from BRS Pathology clarified, that's where I'm going! The best of luck to you! A.
