One of my friend took step 2 about 3 weeks ago. He has not received the scores. But he received an email from USMLE. The subject is USMLE advice that you requested --name of this new helpful tutorials service. The message is listed below. Does htis mean he has failed step 2? Any of you experienced the similar situation? Thanks for your advice.

Dear Doctor,

After several failures in each step, I actually improved to top scores by utilizing a genius's company that provides excellent personlized tutoring. Yes, they are far more expensive than Falcon/Kaplan (i.e., they charge $7500/step)--but they do not get paid unless you succeed with your score!

The other key difference is that (because of that fact that your contract states that he will not get paid until you succeed) he acts as your own personal coach (vs Falcon/Kaplan that has classes/audiotapes but no private tutoring).

In reality-well money does talk, and if someone knows that your success will pay off for them also--they will definitely help you.

Give them a try--I recommend that you try them first ( I believe that they have a Yale person now) because at least if you fail with them, you can use that refunded money for Falcon, Kaplan, etc (whereas Falcon, Kaplan will not return a penny!).

But the question is, as my friend said, these people may know the results ahead of the exam takers (even the ECFMG). Then they send those emails to the ones who failed the exam so that they can increase their customer volume. Do you think i am right? Any1 else also receive similar message?
