I don't think there is any fibrosis in ARDS.

Would say it is an diffusion impairment, due to interstitial and intraalveolar edema with hyaline membrane formation.

no hyaline is intraalveolar material, it's a debris from all the inflamation what was happaning

Fibrosis is inside of alveolar wall, under the epithelial alveolar membrane .

Layers :

Surfactant

Pneumocytes

Basal lamina = firbrosis occures here

Capillary endothelial membrane
