how do the program directors calculate the yrs from graduation iam 2004 grad so am i 4 or 5 yrs frm graduation? do they take into consideration from the time we apply or the time we plan to begin our residency?

many say its from your year of grad to the year you i.v.2004-2008.so 4 yrs.but i guess in some places they consider the year you start the residency. so i would say 4-5 yrs from grad. i also read some where who matched last year say that for post grads from other countries they consider till they year they were in touch with clinical experience,though there are initial filtres which is done by pc's,but if a pd get to see your application which good cv you will get an iv and the cutoff dont matter. so i guess the 1st hurdle is to get thro those initial screeing{filtres} done blindly by some non medical personnel.
