what are clara cells . what is their function?

Sorry, but this is wrong. They do not line by themselves, but just form part of the cell population that line the respiratory and terminal bronchioles. In the former they represent around 22% of the cell population, while in the later around 11%. And they do not secrete p450, but they have the p450 activity in their cytoplasm. They also contribute to the epithelial cell renewal of the mentioned structures.
