A 4 y/o boy start to develop hematomas quite often.He complains to his mother of knee pain and she noted that they are swollen and painful. He is frequently getting bruised and she start to realize thAT MINOR CUTS on him seems to bleed readily. His mother is very concerned, because she knows that her father had a bleeding disorder. It is determined that this boy has hemophilia A.What factor is deficient in hemophilia A? A- V B- VIII C- IX D-XI E-XII

A factor assay would be used to distinguish between the two disorders (mixing the patient plasma with factor VIII or IX-deficient plasma in order to determine the level of functional factor VIII or IX in the patient plasma, respectively).
