Hi, everyone

I took the new version of STEP 2 CK on Sep 15th and got my score this moring. Although I was informed right after my exam that my score will be available 6w later. According to the USMLE news, most of the examinees from mid- Augest to late Sep will get their scores by Oct 8th.

My experience of step 1 & step 2 ck will be posted later (still working on that). Just some personaly feelings after the exam.

If you have time to read all my experience, go the "LONG" part: If your time is limited, go directly to the "SHORT" part:shocked

LONG rolling eyes
1) It is much longer than NBME form 2. I didn't do any other NBME, so I don't know whether it is true for other forms.
2) there are 2 multimedia questions on every blocks, which do not exist in step 1.
3) it is more doable than UW although somehow the real exam is a little bit longer than UW on average.
4) the length of kaplan qbank is similar to real exam, but the real one is not as picky as the qbank.
5) timing is very important. Do not feel panic if you meet the very long questions or if you cannot even pick up the answer from the list. If it happens, it means there must be something wrong. My way to deal with it is the following: pick up one you think is most likely to be correct and move ahead, but make sure you mark it. After you finish all the questions, go back and try to calm down and re- think the answers. Try to exclude the anwers instead of try to match the listed answers to your "perfect" answer in your mind. It works for me and I do pick up the final correct ones using this method.
6) practice as many questions as possible and make notes.
7) do NOT try to remember the questions in order to google the answers or ask your friends after the exams.

SHORT: rolling eyes
1) do as many questions as possible during your prep
2) be patient in exam
3) if you meet difficult questions, guess==> mark==> go back to exclude
4) do NOT try to remember the questions in order to google the answers after the exams

Finally, I appreacite all the information and personal experiences posted in this forum (and forum for step 1).

Good luck everyone.
