lakshya_0_7: Sorry to hear that. I don't have an answer for you, but I think later on people start canceling ivs and you may get one there. Let's pray. Good luck!

This is the most ridiculous excuse that I have heard, a program can make! lakshya, I dont think that this is your fault. It is a case of bad management on the side of the program. That said, I agree with Arlete, that their are going to be IV cancellations and you should keep in touch so that when somebody cancels an IV, you can take up that slot.

Yes, keep contacting them. You have been selected for interview. One spot will appear sooner or later. Good Luck,

It is pretty scary...i called up one program to schedule and the only dates left were in January ! I won't be getting my last step result (CK) until the 1st week of November....if all the slots are already taken up then I guess the invites I have now will be the only ones....making things kind of tense.... However I have heard of people getting IVs in November,....so we'll see what happens. I'm sure plenty of people cancel their interviews b/c of prematches, or just because they have too many to choose from...lets hope for the best

coolmavs wrote: This is the most ridiculous excuse that I have heard, a program can make! Sorry, but why is it ridiculous? I invite applicants and schedule interviews. Bad management? Not schedule you because I offered an interview to someone who didn't contact me in two weeks? Am I supposed to just sit and wait for applicants to call me? Invite 100 candidates and wait and wait for the 50 who never call or email when they decide that they aren't going to schedule an interview with me? THAT's ridiculous. Sorry but I have been saying for years - I can only schedule a certain number of candidates and when the interviews are full - they are full. The real problem is that candidates don't cancel interviews in enough time for me to schedule another candidate in. Most of my cancellations? A phone mail message or email about 6-7pm the night before the interview. Yes, it's sad that you couldn't get an interview with this program - but you had the invite 2 weeks ago. I was going to read more posts, but now?

I have one issue: I responded via email (as requested) with my preferred date the same day I got an invite (on the 30th of September), but still have not received any kind of notification.....Is that normal?...I guess I'll wait till Monday and see what happens...because I don't want to be annoying and bothersome,...but I thought i would get a confirmation or something by the end of the week.....

Agree with bbb..match season is so comptetive that you should not miss a chance.I contacted a program 3 days after the invitation and I had just 2 options in nov middle or january 1st week. I suggest call or e mail program back saying thanks and atleast tell tentative dates at the earliest possible.GL to all.

BBB i can understand the PCs position...i know its a tough job handling so many applications and then scheduling interviews. This program in its interview offer email (on 19 sept) offered me some dates and asked me to get back to them before 15 nov. they said after 15 nov it would be difficult for them to offer me a date for IV. i responded well before 15 nov! dint i? why did they mention 15 nov deadline if they couldnt schedule applicants after 2 october? thats unfair!! i got another interview from a prog on 1 oct and the program has clearly mentioned that i need to contact them by 10 october else they wont schedule me. and i already got in touch with them!! another program today dint give me a deadline but asked me to get in touch with them and i mailed them right away! Trust me most of the applicants are restless to get interviews and very eager to schedule interviews. thanks!

Yeh, it's weird they say the slots are already filled, while they kept saying it's still way too early to worry about not getting IVs!

coolmavs; i respectfully should disagree with u on this one. you should make your iv apomnt asap, then if later on u get more iv's in the same area u could ask the prog if u can change the date and beleive me most programs/pc's do... most likely there are other candidates that want to chang iv dates and if the pc's find something that would work for u they will let u know. but u must always LOCK-IN that iv. lakshya just keep ur cantact and i'm sure they will call u..good luck

congrats Lakshya for the happy solution to your problem. I have a similar problem. I got an iv invite from a program one afternoon giving me a few iv date options. I emailed them the next day with my choice. But got the reply saying that i have been put on waiting list. I called them to ask if any dates were available for me to consider. They said all slots were full. Hence i am now in the waiting list.
