Hi,
My Pharmacology Knowledge is not the best and I really want to prepare for it well.It seems Lippincott's and Kaplan are highly recommended......my query is should I read both or just one of them?My worry is it may be troublesome to review/revise my Pharmacology if I read Lippincott's....or its not too hard to revise it and that Kaplan may have insuffiecient information to answer well for the exam. What portions in Lippincott's is not essential for the USMLE and considered as Low Yield??I hope someone can advice me on the best way to prepare my Pharmacology.

hi,
i'd advise u to study from kaplan.but in topics where u think u may need a better understanding of the subject, open up ur lippincott or kaplan ,and read the particular chapter or portion to clear ur concepts.all the best.

I second that advice. I am using thoses two books. Lippincott is very good, but very detailed....so easy to get stuck in the details. While kaplan is to the point, but sometimes lacking. Also, if you have the time try the USMLEasy qbank section on pharm....I have found it helpful to do some questions on the pharm topics I covered that day. Good correlation with what I learned.... grin

I have the same problem. I really like them all they're very good, but I don't have the tiem to read from all of them. I started with Kaplan but I felt like I needed more so I went back to Lippincott, and then to Katzung. Now of course I am lagging behind. Darn! What do you suggest?
Thanks and good luck!
A.
