I finally received my socre report yesterday evening, and I'm sooo relieved that the waiting is over I scored 91/220, which is way more than i exspected, as i was always only aiming for high 80s bc i had to work and didnt have that much time to prepare took NBME 4 one month before my exam and scored only 390; after that people here told me it would be better to postpone the exam. I only learned a week or so later that I had to be in France for my exchange student program in september; so i didn't postpone the exam and took it on sept 1st most of the time i've been a silent reader of this forum, so thanks to everyone who's post could cheer me up some time or give me hope that not everything is lost with a bad nbme!! and good luck to everyone who has the exam still ahead!!!

hello everyone! thank you all very much! first of all, i mostly used first aid (of course), some kaplan ln (anatomy, pathology, biochemistry, behavioral and pharmacology) which I read only once as I didnt have more time. For Biochemistry and Microbiology prep I bought the Rapid review books, think these are great. Well, I also used the Netter anatomy atlas (CD) and also did some questions Took NBME 4 about one month before the real exam, where I scored 390... I was really scared of failing the real exam at that time Then I subscribed for UWorld, which REALLY pushed me, my cumulative score was 57% (not that good I know), I completed all questions and retook about 20% of those that I answered wrong in the first place. Two days before the exam I took NBME 5 and scored 490, which left me pretty confident that I wouldnt fail The night before my exam was pretty exhausting, I arrived late in Munich/Germany in a youth hostel where I stayed with my girlfriend for that night (how good to have someone around you who tries to calm you down and motivate you!) What was pretty bad was that it was extremely loud in this hostel...couldnt sleep very well.. The exam itself went by very fast I think, started at 8:30 (I think?), the computers where more than lousy but my concentration was good Took no break, 5 min, 10 min, 20 min, 10 min, 10 min. I was soo afraid of biochemistry and micro which were by far my weakest areas, but there were astonishingly few biochem questions (maybe 2 per block, sometimes only 1) Micro was heavily tested (esp all the coccidiodo, histo, crypto stuff that rarely ever happens in real life (compared to nosocomial stuff etc) but is just hard to learn (for me) Loooots of cardiovascular, one audio q (a heart sound, pretty easy), also lots of behavioral .... which turned out to have been my weakest area on the exam haha so I think that sums it up pretty much good luck to everyone else out there!

whoaaa and I forgot, GOLJAN, of course, absolutely essential! listened to him twice, mostly in the evenings, usually with FA by my side to take complementary notes

Do you think the FA is sufficient for cardio? And the Behaviorial questions, were they stats, ethics, or straight forward diagnosis? Thank you so much for the info. Oh and how were Pharm questions?

yes FA should be sufficient for cardio.. with UW and Goljan it should totally be doable behavioral was mostly stats, actually not too difficult...but my worst part nonetheless
