NMS series, exept for pediatrics (I did not like it) are very good books. If you use First Aid for step 1, 2, etc, they give you a list of the best books to study from. I did that (from the book with the list made a list of the best books and bought them second hand in SF. Also see where you did worst during medical school. Those are your weak points. Purchase extra books for those subjects (I did so for pathology) and sit extra time with them. take also several self-assesment tools, and take a mini test every Saturday (once a week, whatever) Highlight your weak points and work on them. It is easy to concentrate just on what you know and relax too much. Also be a pessimist. Take the most difficult question book and don't be satisfied until you get at least 80% of the questions right. Don't repeat the questions (better use fewer every time, FOR EXAMPLE ONLY 100 OR 200 QUESTIONS) They are enough to let you know whether you need to learn more neurology, more kidney, or psychopharmacology. It is not the question what counts, it is the topic. By the way I am going back to Argentina because of visa problems. They make it really hard for foreigners here, so BRACE YOURSELF AND TAKE ALL PRECAUTIONS BEFORE YOU COME!
