A 65-year-old Caucasian female is admitted for new-onset severe pain in her left leg. She lives with relatives who have been caring for her since she was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Her relatives state that she has been having trouble walking for the last 2 weeks due to her pain. On history, she states that she has pain in the left thigh near the hip and that the pain becomes severe overnight. Laboratory studies show an elevated alkaline phosphatase. and radionucleotide bone scanning reveals an osteoblastic lesion of the proximal femur. This woman most likely has a malignancy of which of the following structures?
O A. Breast
O B. Colon
O C. Pancreas
O D. Prostate
O E. Thyroid

1. breast
2. prostate
3. lung
