like every body else, i was aiming for 99 for step two but when i got 90 in nbme 2 weeks before the exam, i was shattered , i eighter had to delay the exam till next year or take my chances. so i studied even harder, revised kaplan twice and did uworld all over again. my confidence level raised but did not take nbme again as i would get nervous. in nbme i was marking almost 20 questions in a block, i would mark a question if i am not 100 percent sure that its correct.

so here is the test day , i went to another city stayed in motel and went there even before the staff. they let me in at 7:48 i started my exam. . My first block was doable but i ended up marking 20 questions. I was nervous and came out. had a juice and then went back 2nd block was the same 17 questions i marked, thirs i only marked 10 and 4rt also was easy i marked 11. 5th and 6th almost 20 were marked and by this time the air condition was tunred off and i was suffocating. i asked the people to turn it back on , took another break , i had a headache and cudnt carry on for the 7th block. at that time i was tired, had a headache due to heat and suffocation and did nt seem to be doing good.

my son watches a cartoon bob the builder and when ever he does any thing he says can we do it, and every body says " yes we can". So i asked my self can i do it, Yes i can was the reply. I put off my shirt and started doing the seventh block and to my surprise it was easy i only marked 10 and hay the last one was even easier and i only marked9.

over all it was mixed with easy and hard questions . listen , easy is a relative term what hard to me might be easy for the guy who scored 280 plus so leme put it this was . if i take a block, 30 questions would be memory recall. like you dont have to think alot they will give you picture very clear that you have studies and all hyou have to do is to recollect from your memory area and click tahts the easy one like a pic and detail of scabies and askingf or treatment. then there are brain storming where you have to put your brain to calculate the answer ( not necessarily methamatically ) in exam settings we dont like those questions as it tires our brain quickly and so we call then hard. and there are soe questions which we have no clue soo those i say are due to ( bad preparation and experimental)

now i dont know what my score would be but i really hope i score good but for thiose who are gono take it . human mind is very adaptive, you get tired only when u thik u will. so for the last two blocks, ask your self can you do it,, and shout and scream yes i can..


i know i might end up from 88 percentile to 92 but i have tried my best to get even better and i will let you kguys know if i get it.

please pray for me and my scores, i love psychiatry and have to apply real quick.

can u share ur daily study schedule? how many hrs daily?

well it was not fixed but usually i woke up at 12 or one at noon and start studying till 7 to 8 thana brake to enjoy with family andthan from 1 at night to 6 in the morning than sleep.

i'm really motivated by ur accomplishments alonside bringing up ur son. god bless u

my son is now 2 and a half and wants full attention some times i wanted to play with him but really cudnt as exam was near, my son suffered alot and so did my wife but she is vocal so she expressed it completely. hey and she is pregnent so had to take out toime for doctors appointment and other stuff.

life is not easy but all well that ends well
