all 6 of them gives a correct estimate as estimate is based on percentile basis

nbme1 is very good basic stuff.its a good guide in middle of ur preps.best to use it when u done with ur second reading
take it offline

nbme2 is perhaps the best estimate.not coz its like the exam but because its been tried by the maximum number of people over the years
exam is not at all like this.far too easy than exam

nbme3 is quite good and tricky.but again small q and they never test ur reading and time management skills

nbme4 is quite the same as nbme3.many people regard nbme 4 as the most correct estimate.

BUT THE REAL ISSUE WITH NBME 1234 IS THAT SINCE MOST OF THE Q ARE AGE OLD ONES SO ALL THE Q BANKS LIKE KAPLAN UW USMLERX USE THEM TO GET AN IDEA OF THE REAL TEST.SO U MIGHT FIND MANY OF THE NBME Q IN UR Q BANKS IN CHANGED FORM.

NBME 5 AND 6 are relatively new and such q are not yet covered in q bansk till now.
also the q lenght is quite good (though its still shorter than the exam).
this makes nbme 5 and 6 a good estimate and a true MOCK test these days
they do underestimate the score a bit but still the stress level and the panic in quite similar to that of the exam

all in all....try and do all nbme
treat it like a q bank of 1200 q
for ages people are getting few direct repeats of nbme q and similar diagrams and ecgs

I WAS MYSELF CONFUSED WHEN I HAD TO PICK NBMES AND SO I THOUGHT TO WUD HELP PEOPLE

Any advice....??

Should I take right now Form 2.....my exam date Dec 18th.

Im in the middle of my second reading, doing also FA and UW together......I plan to take ONE of NBME 1 month before real step.....then......Form 5 right?

Thanks in advance.....any advice suggestion comment motivation grin......Would be very welcome smiling face

TAKE FORM 2 AS SOON AS I FINISH UW ONES

AND TAKE NBME5 15 DAYS BEFORE EXAM

AND REMEMBER......GIVE URSELF TIME BEFORE NBME5 TO REVISE THE THEORY ONES AGAIN.
DO NOT END UP GIVING EXCUSES AFTER NBME THAN I WUD HAVE SCORED MORE HAD I READ SOME MORE.

TALKING ABOUT MOTIVATION.....THE BEST POSSIBLE MOTIVATION IS VIA NBME
WHEN EVER U FEEL JADED OR BORED OR LACKING MOTIVATION JUST DO NBME
THERE IS NOT BETTER WAY TO GET BACK ON TRACK than to COME TO FACE WITH THE REALITY

just to add......be careful if u just take form 1.....it tends to overpredict ur score.....just happened to one of my friends.....had 99/239 on form 1 and ended up wit 230/96....so def do more than 1 form....goodluck

how much does it cost ,how i can take them
are these more important than doin UW (i am doing it from cd 2006 now)
