Dear BBB and others.. every one says that it is good to interview late specially where prematch is not oferred.. in my case i am 14 weeks now, due in march and by dec..it would show up quite obviously..and i dont know if my health would allow me to travel then.. in such cases do u guys think..is it wise to schedule the ivs at their given first slots????/ some only start in november..i have no choice there.. i appreciate ur opinions about this..

I would go ASAP . What's the point in waiting ? I'd get them over with before you're too far along and travelling will be harder . And besides ..maybe sooner it will be less obvious and you won't have to face questions about the pregnancy if you don't want to yet . I think it is quite agreed upon that interviewing in your second trimester is probably the least problematic. Good luck and go with your gut feeling ! You know what's best for you better than anyone else .

I agree with above, get it over with soon, I know most programes would AVOID obvious questions about your pregnancy, for obvious reasons. But donot worry, many programes see it as an added advantage since you are more likely to stay put in one place and complete the residency, and many programes like the fact that you would have had your baby by the time you start your residency.

We've had applicants in all phases of pregnancy. As long as you are physicially able to travel - there shouldn't be an issue.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Like katzung said, PDs are OK if you are going to have the baby before starting the residency. I would find a way to mention that I have the baby care all figured out while I dedicate the long hours to the residency, though.
